Dunk Tank version 2.0

On Thursday, June 24th, we had our 2nd Annual Dunk Tank fundraiser for United Way.

I imagine, as a department, that we raised a LOT more money this year than we did last year. Especially since we had four dunkees this year instead of the two last year!! A BIG thank you to Pete, Bryan, Hal and Kelly for their willingness to get soaking wet on a hot day.

Without further ado, here are the highlights of the afternoon:

Pete was up first. He entered at the risk of his beloved Cowboys Jersey.

You will see lots of pictures of little kids throwing balls. They weren't the only ones who participated, they're just the cuter participants. Below is Aiden, showing off his great southpaw aim!

And his great button-pushing skills...

...but the button was malfunctioning. Ooops!

Once the button/chair was fixed, Val showed Pete who the boss is! (It's always the woman, FYI)

And Cathy Cabral was boss.....

...Michael's the boss, too....

and Pete's granddaughter, Riley. She showed her womanly boss skills quite a bit that day, as you'll see further down.

Down he goes!!

Next up was Pete's older granddaughter, Desire.

And then came Hal...

It's fun to push the button. It was too hot out. Each push of the button was doing Pete a favor.

Good thing there was warm sun and towels with which to dry off.

Next up was Bry. He was prepared for some deep dunking.

Complete with water wings.

Rylee was up for the challenge.

And Bry was very encouraging.

Crista warms up....

But in the end, pushed the button. It was a handy, well-loved button.

Such a good sport.

Those darned balls kept going behind the target.

Bryan waited patiently.

Hereeeee's Hal!

Hal the tease.

Stubborn ball, again.

Oooh! Looks like the ball is going to hit the target this time!

SPLASH!!

"I get knocked down, but I get up again!"

No foul balls, please!

Lovely LaRee bought 15 tickets! Just for Bry!

Here LaRee proves that running on a treadmill is the best way to develop a pitching arm! Sign up for your gym pass in HR today!

"You need to move back to the yellow line!"

"No, I need to move CLOSER!"

LaRee sure got her money's worth! Down he goes again!

"I'd better make sure my water-wings are on tight, at least until LaRee is done."

Push the button and RUN!

Time to dry off and enjoy the rest of the day!

Later that day......

Rylee rests her pitching arm by simply pushing the button.

Tiffany congratulates Aiden on a perfect pitch.

This is what we call "Therapy."

Not sure what Syl and Bry are looking at but Alexis keeps her focus on the dunk tank.

Mandatory feet shot. My favorite.

Debby is all about taking a shot at Hal, too.

Like I said, it was a well-loved button.

Lest you think our dunkee's were miserable...check out that cheshire grin!

Payback's a what?

You're doing it wrong. Fall down, not forward.

Nominating a dunkee- $50, Five shots at the dunkee- $5, a picture of Hal scratching his nose- {PRICLESS}

Anyone want a wet hug?

the planets aligned and Kelly went into the dunk tank....

I told you the kid pictures are cute! Go Rylee!

But watch out for that splash!

Just so you know, Hugo warmed up beforehand...

...and it paid off! Go Hugo!

SO CLOSE!

Blair's last day in Circulation. Isn't dunking your boss something you'd like to do on your last day?

And Alexis is ready to take her turn. Gotta keep that 2nd ball handy!

Um, anyone else notice Hal's determination. In the previous pictures Hal is smiling while throwing. Residual aggression from the racquetball court, maybe? Just curious.

Nice Shot!

And I thought Alexis was prepared with her two balls. Those balls weren't for juggling....

Is he going down?

Yup!

Thanks for being such a good sport, Kelly.

And thanks to everyone who participated! It was another successful fundraiser!
